Programs for Children include: 

Kids Sunday School

     Birth through 6th grade
     Each Sunday 9:45am-10:45am   

Kids Choir

     Children 1st through 6th grade
     Sunday Evenings 5:00--6:30 PM 
     Fall rehearsals begin September 12, 2010.

Bible Skills, Drills, and Thrills

     Children 3rd through 6th grade
     Wednesdays  7:00 pm-8:00pm
     Fall term begins September 16, 2010. 

 Vacation Bible School

     June 27--July 1, 2011     

Centri-Kid Camp for Grades 3-6

     August 1-5, 2011 (registration complete)
     Skycroft Conference Center

Common Questions about Sunday School for Children:

 
Do I have to be a member at Groveton Baptist Church for my children to attend?
     No, Sunday School enrollment is open to anyone regardless of church background.
What is the cost?
     There is no chage for enrollment or materials.
When does Sunday School meet?
     9:45am - 10:45 am; 52 weeks a year.
 
My child will not be able to attend every week, is that a problem?
     We encourage regular attendance but we understand that many children have unique family situations. Our Sunday School workers are encouraged to keep in regular contact with their groups regardless of their attendance.
 
Who teaches Sunday School?
     Trained volunteers who are members of GBC.
 
May I sit in on my child's class?
     Yes, you may. We also have Bible study classes for adults that meet at the same time as children's Sunday School.
 
When are your worship services? May children attend?
     Our Contemporary music service meets from 8:30am - 9:30 am and the Traditional music service meets from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm each week. Children are encouraged to attend services. Most weeks there is a special time in the service just for children.Familes with children under 4 years old may choose Extended Teaching Care during the worship services.
 
How many groups are there for boys and girls?
     Kindergarten; 1st and 2nd grade, 3rd and 4th grade, 5th and 6th grade. Middle school students are part of the Youth Department. Children under kindergarten are grouped according to their age and developmental skills.
 
How do I find the Children's room?
     Enter on the Dawn Street side of the building at the covered walkway marked "Visitor Entrance" or entrance B. Inside greeters will escort you to your children's room.
